AC Hotel Waterfront Vancouver is currently seeking a Security Guard (Part Time - Graveyard Shift) to join our growing Hospitality team! The Hotel Security Guard helps create a safe, welcoming environment for guests, employees, visitors, property, and assets at AC Hotel Waterfront Vancouver. This role combines attentive security practices with professional guest service, sound judgment, and respectful communication. This position may assist responsible for the efficient, courteous, and prompt handling of guest luggage, welcoming all guests as well as bidding them a fond farewell. Benefits

Responsibilities
  • Protect guests, employees, visitors, hotel property, and assets while maintaining a calm and professional presence.
  • Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, entrances, exits, restricted areas, and other access points in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned indoor and outdoor areas and report safety, security, maintenance, or guest concerns.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, injuries, alarms, and other emergencies.
  • Document incidents, observations, access issues, and follow-up actions accurately and promptly.
  • Enforce hotel policies and security procedures consistently, respectfully, and without discrimination.
  • Assist guests professionally by providing directions, answering basic questions, and connecting them with the appropriate hotel team.
  • Coordinate with police, fire services, medical responders, and other emergency services when appropriate or directed by hotel procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling guest information, employee matters, investigations, reports, and security-related information.
  • Complete shift handoffs and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized hotel departments.
  • May provide guests with directions accurately and is familiar with the local area.
  • Perform other task as assigned or determined by the Department Head.
Qualifications
  • At least one year hotel, hospitality, guest-services, loss-prevention, public-safety, or security experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
Must be able to read, write ad speak English.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, employees, supervisors, and emergency responders.
  • Ability to remain alert, composed, and professional when handling sensitive or fast-changing situations.
Customer service experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete security logs and incident reports accurately.
  • Situational awareness and careful attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Professional guest-service approach and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to de-escalate concerns and resolve problems respectfully.
  • Dependability, teamwork, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Basic comfort using CCTV, access-control systems, radios, phones, and digital reporting tools, with training provided as applicable.
  • Willing to work in flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends.
