Job Summary (List Format) Security Analyst (USAA, San Antonio, TX, Onsite)


- Position: Security Analyst (Mid-Level, 5+ years' experience)
- Client: USAA
- Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX
- Contract: Up to 2 years (extendable)
- Compensation: Up to $45/hr (targeting mid-level candidates)
- Team Size: Part of an 8-analyst team



Key Responsibilities:
- Perform enterprise-wide account discovery and identity access reviews
- Analyze and validate user accounts, roles, entitlements, and privileges across multiple systems
- Extract account listings and review group memberships using Active Directory/Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID)
- Leverage IAM/IGA tools (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt) for account aggregation, entitlement analysis, and ownership validation
- Use data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL) to:
- Analyze large datasets
- Identify dormant, orphaned, privileged, or inactive accounts
- Track remediation progress and generate reports/dashboards for leadership
- Apply standardized methodologies for account classification and authority assessment
- Collaborate with application owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders to validate account purpose and ownership
- Support IAM maturity initiatives, governance improvements, and audit readiness
- Contribute to compliance reporting (SOX, NIST, ISO, etc.)
- Identify and escalate high-risk findings (e.g., privileged accounts without ownership, excessive/conflicting access, dormant high-authority accounts)



Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with account discovery or access reviews (not just general security work)
- 5+ years in Identity & Access Management (IAM) and account discovery across enterprise systems
- 4+ years of data analysis and access validation experience
- 3+ years of security & risk assessment, understanding privilege levels and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and investigative mindset
- Comfortable working with large, incomplete, or inconsistent datasets
- Experience working in regulated or audit-driven environments (highly preferred)
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Familiarity with automation/scripting (PowerShell)
- Industry certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM, IAM-related)
