Are you looking for meaningful work where you can serve others and be part of a compassionate team? Stuarts Draft Retirement Community is hiring a Dietary Aide/Cook to help provide our residents with nutritious meals, kind service, and a clean, welcoming dining environment.
This is a cross-trained position. The selected employee will be trained to perform both dietary aide and cook responsibilities and may be scheduled in either role based on the needs of the community.
Compensation:$15.50 - $17.50 hourly
Responsibilities:What You’ll Do:
Prepare and cook meals according to the posted weekly menu
Prepare alternative meals when needed
Assist with meal preparation, plating, and serving
Follow residents’ dietary requirements and portion guidelines
Wash, cut, dice, chop, and slice ingredients
Check and record food temperatures before meals are served
Serve residents in a courteous, patient, and respectful manner
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen surfaces
Clean dining areas, countertops, floors, and workstations
Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and inventory practices
Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and storage requirements
Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely meal service
Complete other dietary and kitchen duties as assigned

Ability to follow recipes, menus, instructions, and dietary requirements
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
Ability to multitask and work well as part of a team
Previous cooking, kitchen, or food-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
Ability to follow all food-safety and sanitation requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
Willingness to be trained and scheduled as both a dietary aide and cook
